Accountability & Transparency

Dryden Regional Health Centre is dedicated to providing the best quality of care to all our patients, and we are proud to be part of a system that is focused on quality, accountability, transparency and results.

Ontario's hospitals operate in one of the most demanding accountability and transparency environments in Canada and this section of our website has been developed to demonstrate our commitment to these values and to the communities we serve.

The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA) sets out a number of public reporting requirements for hospitals in Ontario, including the preparation and publication of reports on the use of consultants, expense claims by hospital executives and Board Members, audited financial statements and annual business plans. Additionally, the Board of Directors must approve an attestation of compliance with these directives each year.

Dryden Regional Health Centre has well-developed Expense Policy regarding reimbursement of business-related expenses by hospital staff and the Board of Directors. The Perquisite Policy is also in place to meet the compliance requirements with the BPSAA.

The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA) requires that Ontario hospitals prepare an annual attestation on compliance with directives in the Act, and to make this attestation publicly available. Included as appendices to the Attestation are reports prepared to comply with procurement and use of consulants in compliance with the BPSAA.

Other reports required or related to the BPSAA are also available to the public.

Under the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act , hospitals must publicly post travel, accomodation, meal, and hospitality expense claims of the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Team, and the Board of Directors.

Audited Financial Statements are made available for the public to view following approval at the Annual Meeting of the Corporation, typically held in June of each year.

In addition to the posting of financial statements, Ontario hospitals must also prepare and publish an annual business plans; this requirement is satisfied by the publication of DRHC's Annual Report, which highlights our mandate and strategic direction, an overview of current and future programs, and performance measures and targets.

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 is just one measure ensuring Ontario's public sector is transparent and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to disclose annually the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year.
