Media Release: STABILIZATION & CRISIS PROGRAMS RESTRUCTURED TO MEET NEEDS OF COMMUNITY

The Dryden Regional Health Centre understands the emotional burden for individuals experiencing distress and has been engaged in working with the North West LHIN and our local partners to develop solutions for access to safe and appropriate care.

Beginning in May, services previously provided through the Crisis Stabilization Unit will change to better meet the needs of our community and will focus on stabilization and mobile crisis response services.

"Periodically, there are challenging times in our lives when we might need a safe space to work through troubling mental health or substance misuse concerns," explains Sheri McMenemy, Manager of the Mental Health Services and Family Health Team. "The service will provide stabilization and support to individuals as well as ongoing 24/7 mobile crisis response services."

The DRHC Stabilization Program is a short-term residential program. The program will provide a safe environment and community residential support to persons who are living with mental health and/or substance misuse concerns.
