CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

As the first case of Coronavirus in Ontario was confirmed this past weekend, all Hospitals are advised to increase screening and ensure that proper infection control practices are followed for ANY patient presenting with cold of flu-like symptoms. These individuals will be asked to wear a mask and may be isolated, as a precaution.

We also ask that patients self-identify, immediately upon presentation to Hospital or ambulance, if they believe they are at risk for Coronavirus. This will ensure that proper precautions are taken ASAP so that we can deliver the appropriate care while protecting our staff and other patients.

Please know that these measures are precautionary and are being taken on the advice of the Ministry of Health
