The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position:
Temporary Full-Time
Maintenance
The Maintenance worker ensures the smooth operation and upkeep of the facility by performing a variety of construction, repair, and maintenance tasks. This includes managing both routine and project-based work to uphold building standards, meet regulatory requirements, and support the safety and comfort of staff, patients, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Independently complete assigned maintenance tasks efficiently and within designated timeframes.
- Ensure timely completion of all work orders, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Perform framing and drywall installation, including surface preparation for finishing.
- Apply mud, tape, and paint to deliver clean, professional finishes.
- Safely perform demolition work as needed for renovations, demonstrating knowledge of structural construction principles.
- Install drop ceilings, doorframes, and doors accurately.
- Perform basic plumbing tasks and assist with general facility repairs and maintenance.
- Demonstrate a general understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines and best practices, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
- Properly use various construction tools and equipment.
- Understand and rigorously follow infection control guidelines related to isolation precautions.
- Recognize, respond to, and report adverse events promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance-related fields is preferred.
- Proficient in framing and installing drywall, including surface preparation for finishing.
- Skilled in applying mud, tape, and paint to deliver clean, professional finishes.
- Experienced in safe demolition practices and knowledgeable in structural construction principles.
- Experienced in installing drop ceilings, doorframes, and doors accurately.
- Able to perform basic plumbing tasks and assist with general facility repairs and maintenance.
- General understanding of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Demonstrates consistent safe work practices and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Good physical health, with the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour.
- Proven attendance record.
- Embodies DRHC Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion, and Respect.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination to be presented prior to hire.
This is a union position. Compensation will be as per the Collective Agreement starting at $26.60/hr. with up to an additional 11% in lieu of benefits. Applicants are requested to forward a completed resume and cover letter to; hr@drhc.on.ca
