Permanent Part-Time Medical Radiation Technologist

The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional:

Temporary Part-Time

Medical Radiation Technologist

Reporting to the Manager- Diagnostic Imaging, the Medical Radiation Technologist performs all the necessary radiographic procedures to aid in patient diagnosis or treatment within the regulatory standards of practice. Delivery of patient care and professional practice consistent with the scope of practice of the MRT as defined by the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO), and DRHC policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Performance of Radiographic Examinations; performs radiographic & CT examinations on both inpatients and outpatients using stationary and portable equipment to obtain information which assists physicians with diagnosis and treatment
  • Select and prepare appropriate contrast media for special examinations, and ensure that all required instruments are readily available for use by the physician
  • Obtain client consent, provide information and ensure proper preparation prior to examination
  • Documentation, Evaluation of Radiographs and Reporting
  • Quality Control and Equipment Maintenance
  • Patient Safety; anticipate changes in the patient's condition and the likely need for support or medical assistance

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

  • Graduate of an approved Medical Radiation Technologist program
  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists (CMRITO)
  • CT experience preferred
  • Ability to communication clearly and function under pressure
  • Ability to teach, problem solve and organize
  • Ability to lead and work well in cooperation with co-workers and other departments
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire

This is a Non-Union position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, $43.39/hr- $50.04/hr, plus up to 21% in lieu of vacation and benefits. Applicants are requested to forward a completed resume and cover letter to: hr@drhc.on.ca
