The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional:

Casual

Specialty Clerk

Reporting to the Director- Surgical Services, the Specialty Clerk ensures the scheduling and registration of specialist clinics, and data base maintenance for wait-time management. This also includes registration for outpatient appointments, as well as supporting our surgical booking services; weekday and evening shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Reception and registration of clients
  • Contacting patients for the purposes of scheduling consultative, procedural, assessment, teaching and follow-up care appointments
  • Processing Diagnostic requisitions at the instruction of Surgeons and other specialists/practitioners with privileges at the Dryden Regional Health Centre
  • Ensure complete patient profile and processing
  • Processing and copying of Slates, clinic schedules for distribution as required
  • Preparing forms & labels for Telehealth and specialty clinic appointments
  • Screening of out-patients as required
  • Registration, form and chart creation
  • Inspection of Health Numbers for validity for all Ontario Clients
  • Statistical Reporting
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience in healthcare administration preferred
  • Medical Terminolgy course (commitment to obtain if not held)
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills (written & oral)
  • Understanding and commitment to confidentiality
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high demand environment
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination status to be presented prior to hire
