The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with a highly motivated, team-orientated professional:

Casual Engineer/ Trades

Reporting to the Director-Facilities & Infrastructure Risk, the Engineer/ Trades is responsible for the maintenance of DRHC's Plant Operations, providing a safe environment for staff, patients, and the public.

Responsibilities:

  • Trouble shoot Building Management System and respond to System alarms generated through participation in the off hours on-call program maintained by the Engineering Department
  • Maintain steam supply, hot water, heat, and cooling to the facility
  • Monitor performance of building systems through inspection and the Building Management System
  • Maintain as required all boilers and all related equipment
  • Perform work orders and participate in the preventative maintenance program as required
  • Perform steam boiler chemical tests on daily basis and tests monthly
  • Maintain supply and delivery of both liquid and bottled gas levels
  • Follow all Fire, Health and Safety, Electrical Safety Authority, and T.S.S.A. regulations and procedures

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

  • 4th Class Operating Engineer Certificate or equivalent certification in an appropriate field of building services (i.e. Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems)
  • Experience in plumbing, mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional trouble shooting capabilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proven Attendance record
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of Behaviour
  • Demonstrates DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and Respect
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination to presented prior to hire

This is Union position, compensation is per CBA; starting salary is $38.39/ per hour plus 15% in lieu of vacation & benefits. Applicants are requested to forward a completed resume and cover letter to: hr@drhc.on.ca
